ALCAS have announced that the organisation has joined the Materials & Embodied Carbon Leaders' Alliance (MECLA). This part of WWF-Australia's climate change commitments, MECLA's mission to help make the materials used in the building and construction of our cities and towns meet Net Zero carbon targets.
MECLA brings together a range of stakeholders in the construction and urban planning industry with a shared aim to transform the sector to reach Net Zero. Their many working groups address barriers and identify opportunities to support this transition.
We believe that ALCAS has a lot to offer the MECLA community, as two of our key programs (the AusLCI database and EPD Australasia) have been invaluable in assessing embodied emissions of building and construction materials in Australia. We look forward to engaging with MECLA and supporting the initiative with our broad knowledge on all things LCA.
